Chasity’s Architect/Designer of the Month

Andrea Palladio was an Italian architect born in the early 1500’s, and he is one of my favorites! The inventor of Pallidian architecture, his designs were inspired by the classical Roman temples and relied heavily on symmetry. You have likely seen his arch-shaped windows all over the world (a.k.a. the Palladian window) spanning many different eras. My favorite of his works is Villa Rotunda, a square villa with four spectacular views! We have a cool tuscan county side painting in the store right now that is arch shaped and inspired me to write this. Oh yeah…everything Thomas Jefferson ever built was greatly influenced by this man who reinvented classical style.
